Abstract

3D scan of a figure holding a hammer and a cogwheel, that is part of the architecture in Hall 6 of the NHM Vienna, representing the chemical element Iron (Fe). Iron is very ductile and malleable and easily rusts in damp air. It became important for the industrialisation.

All figures in Hall 6 at the NHM Vienna were created by the Austrian sculptor Edmund Hofmann von Aspernburg (1847-1930).
