Abstract

3D scan of a figure holding a pipe, that is part of the architecture in Hall 6 of NHM Vienna, representing the chemical element Lead (Pb). Lead is a heavy metal with a low melting point, which makes it easy to form and produces a rust resistant layer. This made it extremely useful for roofing and piping and was used until the 1970s, but as even minuscule amounts can be harmful to health was since abolished.

All figures in Hall 6 of the NHM Vienna were created by Edmund Hofmann.
