Abstract

3D scan of a terror bird model from the species Paraphysornis brasiliensis. Members of the Phorusrhacidae family are commonly known under the term “terror birds”. Species of these apex predators could reach a height up to 3 meters! They lived mainly in South America from the early Tertiary (55 million years ago) until the late glacial period.
