3D model of a Little putto figure (NHMW-ZOO-MO-0081100-ETH-003)

3D model of the ceramic figurine “Little putto” from the period of Art Noveau (Jugendstil) which is part of the Uetz collection. This ceramic figure shows a little cherub sitting on a land snail and playing the guitar. The snail shell is clearly visible, while the soft body of the snail is only indicated. Given, that this object comes from a private collection, its origin is unknown to the museum at this point.

Karl Uetz (1914–1998) was a private collector and owner of a large mollusc collection. In addition to thousands of snail and mussel shells, the collection also contains approximately 200 art and everyday objects as well as ethnographic objects. The collection was purchased by the NHMW in 1974 and digitised in 2025.
