Abstract

3D scan of a male bearded figure holding the skull of a Sivatherium in his hands. The fossil giraffid Sivatherium lived in Africa and Eurasia between 7 and 1 million years ago and therefore never had contact with modern humans.

The figure was created by Rudolf Weyr (1847-1914) and is part of the decorative program in Hall 10 of the Natural History Museum.
